Sometime You just have to Wait!

1 Peter 5:6 - Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

Happy is the person who learns to wait as he prays, but never loses patience, for God’s time is the best time. Patience is not the ability to wait, but moreover, it is a “soft-skill” to maintain the right attitude while waiting. God will generally answer us in 1 of 3 ways. First, He will answer and give us what we want. Secondly, He says no because He wants to give us something better. Thirdly, He says wait and gives you the best. When God answers our prayers, He is increasing our faith. If He delays us, He is increasing our patience. And, of course, if He doesn’t answer, then He has something better for us.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 declares that every season has a heavenly purpose. Purpose is ALWAYS indicative of destiny. Likewise, seasons represent a window of opportunity. I am talking about SPIRITUAL SEASONS and not the weather here! Don’t get it twisted. Fall is the pre-cursor to new beginnings. It generally represents a cycle of activity that will generate momentum for high levels of productivity. Winter kills off some stuff, but also preserves some things as well. During this time, other opportunities are setup through preparation. Spring represents a release of things that have been held up in your life. Now comes revelation of things hoped for. Now we see the manifestation of things desired deep within our hearts. Finally, summer represents a season of silence. When God created the heaven and the earth, He always took a moment to inspect it and declared it as good. He always took time to reflect on His creation before going to the next thing.

Waiting on the Lord DOES NOT mean that you are sitting still. By the time God answers you, you should already be busy doing what you believe He is calling you to do. Even if you are not doing the specific thing that He has called you for, at least be busy in the same area. If you are called to sing, you ought to be found singing somewhere. If you are called to repair automobiles, I should be able to find you working in an auto repair shop around town. If you are called to ministry, you should be found in somebody’s church “already operating” in your gifts. If you don’t have a clue about what you’re called to, I should find you in one of two places:

1.    Somewhere with your nose buried DEEP in your bible looking for answers, listening to a good preacher, or meditating on the goodness of God

2.    On your knees communicating with God for His divine purpose in your life.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, when I am confused, guide me. When I am weary, energize me. Lord, when I am burned out, infuse me with the light of Your Holy Spirit. May the work that I do and the way that I do it, bring Hope, life, and Courage to those around me. And oh Lord, in my most stressful moments, may I rest in You!  In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Be Blessed!!!
